Sophia Tibaya Mwita is a passionate Adolescent girls and young women's mentor (AGYW) as well as sexual reproductive health and rights advocate in her community. Sophia holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from Egerton University. She seeks to use her knowledge, skills and expertise to improve livelihoods by ensuring a violence free community and a safe space for all girls' and women's voices to be heard and respected. Sophia currently serves as a member of the Youth Advisory Panel with Girl Effect Kenya to ensure promotion of sexual reproductive health and rights needs of young people in Migori and Kenya at large. Ms. Sophia is also a volunteer mentor at Tunaweza Empowerment Organization where she is involved in facilitation of peer to peer discussion and SRHR advocacy activities among the established Girls and Beyond AGYW cycles within the organization. Sophia also serves as the deputy county coordinator for Tunaweza - Migori chapter under Emerging Leaders Foundation that seeks to equip young people with information on Governance and Social accountability so as to create a culture of civic responsibility among young people in Migori county.
Ms. Sophia is a self driven and resilient individual who is devoted to creating a better place for girls and ensuring their meaningful participation in every decision making level in their communities.
